Newsflash!

Jack just weighed in at 18 lbs 12 oz. 27 1/2 inches long. Big boy!

We promptly celebrated this historic doubling of weight by giving him four innoculations, two in each thigh. Needless to say, Jack was not pleased.

Daddy's Older Than He's Ever Been. Now He's Even Older.

When you hit an age milestone like I did today, you're supposed to pause and reflect on what's happened the previous 10 years, and what will happen the next. My peers say 30 is a big milestone, and it's a hard one to move from. Because you're old, I guess.

I dunno. I still feel pretty young thanks to the best gift of all, little Jack. This morning he sat on my stomach and laughed while we hung out with Mom, Truman and Eddie in bed (we're going to need to retrofit the bedframe to support all this weight). He likes standing up on my chest, and laughs and then stomps on me before laughing again.

As I look ahead, there's really only one thing on my mind: Finding ways to spend more time with my family, and treasuring all the little moments, especially with biglittle Jack.

I guess I'm bummed that I can no longer eat my age in corn dogs, but other than that, I can't wait for tommorrow.

Regression

A tough weekend on some accounts.

After leaving for the day on Friday, our nanny drove back to our house to let us know that she had to quit in two weeks because she had taken a full-time job at a nonprofit organization. We were both unhappy, to say the least. Especially since it seems like this was probably in the cards before she signed on with us. The good news is that Jack probably isn't that attached yet, but it definitely makes everything harder since Jenn is back at work. I'm sure we'll find someone, but, it's never easy.

Jack's also decided to take a short step back in his sleeping patterns. He was impressing everyone by sleeping through the night, but as if on cue, when Mom went back to work, he decided to start waking up a couple times each night again. I'm sure it's just another adjustment, but we were enjoying our sleep. :)

I spelled Mom for Sunday so she could go shopping. Jack and I enjoyed hanging out, but I think he was pretty excited when Mom came home. We hung out at home, watched some football, went for a long walk, played the piano and guitar a tiny bit. It was a nice way to spend a Sunday after such a busy week.

And now another busy week begins!
