Jack's first Swing ride!
Today Jack and Mommy drove to Auntie Carrie, Cousin Jessica and Ashley's place in San Luis Obispo. We went to the park nearby their home where Jack had his first swing ride! He loved it and laughed the whole time!

The Big Boy
Jack topped the scales at 25 1/2 pounds yesterday at his 9-month checkup. He also measured 32 inches long. So Jack is officially a big boy!
We were remarking to the pediatrician that it looks like Jack has my olive-colored skin. The doctor asked, "What are you feeding him? Does he like carrots?" We replied yes. Basically, Jack's eating so much carrots and squash, that his skin pigment is a little yellow. Oh well, we'll make him Japanese yet. :)
Still not crawling, but I'm beginning to wonder if he'll skip it altogether. A couple of times now, he's been in his crib, and it'd get very quiet. I'd walk in the door, and see him standing up, holding onto the rail with a big, proud smile on his face.

The Zoo
Jack had his first trip to the zoo today. There is a mini-zoo about 10 minutes from our house. It has animals to pet, and monkeys and some other cool little things. I think he liked hearing the monkey noises, but he liked riding the rides more. There's a little train that goes around the zoo, and Jack had a good time with it.
We're just a few days/weeks from crawling. Jack is pretty mobile now, rolling all over the place. He'll now get on all fours and rock back and forth, so it's only a question of time. Sitting out on the grass today, he slowly starting taking a few crawlsteps backward, so he's getting closer!
He's grabbing on a lot of things now. The other day I put him down for a nap, and about 10 minutes later, i heard him crying. When I went into his room, he was sitting up, with his legs through the slits in the crib, and hanging over the mattress. He was holding onto the crib bars, like some little jailbird. When he saw me, he laughed, the little rascal.
Full set of chompers, more or less. About 10-15 razor sharp teeth.
We're heading into the doctor for his 9 month checkup. Any bets as to how big he is?
