Sleep deprived
We're back into the zone of late-night feedings, being jolted from REM sleep multiple times, and finally falling asleep only to discover it's time to get up. Ahh, what a wonderful time. Jenn's obviously getting the brunt of it, but now that I'm on Jack Duty, I'm not really spared much either.
Christian's latest stats:
Week 2
10 lbs (6% increase! cheaper than sales tax!)
22.5 inches (4.7% increase! faster than inflation!)
We're still trying to teach Christian the virtues of sleeping at night. I'm not sure he believes us just yet, and prefers to sleep in the day.
Jack's done a great job of taking care of his little brother. Holding him, giving him hugs, feeding him, letting us know "Baby Christian's crying," and doing his best imitation of what Christian sounds like when he's crying. We're working on a Quiet Voice interpretation of that last bit.
Jack's also doing great with playing and talking, and also working the room.
The other night, when Jenn was putting him to bed, he told her, "I love you, Mommy." Which melted our hearts. After which, he said "So smart." Yeah, he knows what he's doing...

Welcome Christian!
Christian James Shiroku Hull has arrived!
9lbs, 7oz
21 inches
948A
All are doing well, and thanks for all the well wishes. I've posted some pictures and a couple videos. First 12 hours have been smooth sailing...we know more exhaustive waters are ahead! :)
Christian is pretty mellow, although it's early still and he's likely exhausted from the journey here. He's feeding like a champ, and I've already seen him bench press 350. That's impressive.
Christian gave Jack a truck as a welcome present. Jack didn't know what to make of the crying baby that was no longer on the inside of Mommy. What really freaked Jack out was seeing the pediatrician show up to check out Christian. Jack thought he had been suckered in for some shots and was upset!
Btw, sorry for the bad picture quality on the blog. Click on the image for a better resolution version. I'm too tired to fix the CSS column widths and image mgmt (And if you know how to change the size of the photo Flickr uses to post to a blog, please let me know -- it'll save some time!)
See you soon!
Love, Jenn Mark Jack and Christian (JMJC)
